Viktoria Plzen played the Champions League rematch. Unfortunately, they lost to Karabakh in the first half, Filip Ozobic scored a beautiful goal.
We didn’t see a goal in the first match, Viktoria was mainly supported by goalkeeper Jindřich Staněk. After the draw in Azerbaijan, Plzen entered the rematch in a very promising position.
And it showed that it was one step away from the dream Champions League right from the start. Viktoria entered the match with great desire and great vigour, the centres flew into the whitewash, the Pilsen players tried to threaten the Karabakh goalkeeper, but no clear-cut chances came.
Gradually, the visitors blunted Pilsen’s pressure, until they became calm and went on the offensive. And in the 38th minute they struck.
Mosquera cleared the centre into the net, but Filip Ozobic, who was not occupied by anyone, found the ball on the whitewash, worked the ball on his chest and sent Karabakh into the lead with a beautiful volley.
This gave Viktoria something to do in the second half. With the away goals rule no longer in effect, they only need to equalise in extra time.
