A great day, but with a not so great result. Unfortunately for the Czech Republic and its representative. Tereza Bledá made her Las Vegas debut under the UFC’s star organization.
The Czech is currently the second youngest fighter in the UFC, and at 20 years old, she has a big future ahead of her. However, she entered her fight with Brazilian fighter Natalia Silva as an underdog.
However, Bledou should never be underestimated and Lucie Pudilova, for example, knows that. And the 25-year-old Brazilian didn’t underestimate her either, as she prepared herself perfectly for the style of the Czech rising star.
Pudilova tried to take the fight to the ground from the beginning of the match, but Silva was counting on it and it was her who tried for a takedown. However, Bledá turned one of the attempts to her advantage, which earned her the first round.
It didn’t take much for the Czech to end the match on a submission. But the Brazilian showed that she is very technical even on the ground and knows very well how to behave in those situations. She defended the situation perfectly.
The second round was in favour of the Brazilian. Pale kept trying for a takedown, but Silva showed incredible defense and the former Octagon champion quickly exhausted herself.
It’s worth noting, however, that she took a hard punch to the chin early in the round and Silva landed some hilarious combinations at the end of the second. You could see she was in better shape, she was much quicker than Pale.
And it was no different in the third round. Silva started to gain confidence in her stance, she looked fresh and she took advantage of that. Then when Bledá tried for a takedown, the Brazilian read the situation perfectly and hit the Czech fighter right on the chin with a spinning kick.
The bout was of course stopped despite the Czech fighter’s efforts to continue the fight. Bledá thus lost for the first time in her career and was stopped for the first time in her career.
However, there is nothing to be ashamed of. Bledá has everything yet to come and the loss can only help her, ironically.
