UFC 296 offered an excellent card. From start to finish throughout the gala, we couldn’t find a weak fight. So there were plenty of finishes to see. One of the most brutal in history was then taken care of by Josh Emmett at the start of the main card.

Josh Emmett was scheduled to face Giga Chikadze at the UFC 296 gala. He wanted to get back on a winning streak. After all, this is a seasoned veteran who fought for the interim title, for example. But he’s lost his last two fights.

He was beaten by Yair Rodriguez and Ilia Topuria. Especially in the Topuria fight, he took a beating. So with Chikadze, he was going to do his best to get the green box. However, Chikadze couldn’t start and 10 days before the event, Bryce Mitchell accepted the offer for the match.

The twenty-nine-year-old American had one thing in common with Emmett. He also got a good beating from Topuria. It was the first loss of his career. He was even thinking about quitting. Fortunately, he didn’t.

Unlike his opponent, however, Mitchell did manage to score a win when he defeated Dan Inge. Nevertheless, the fight with Emmett was to be a big test for him. After all, he’s much more experienced and has had tougher and bigger fights.

Two losses in a row made him work that much harder and he wanted to sell all that hard work. Unfortunately for Bryce, he did. And he did it extremely hard.

Emmett delivered one of the most brutal KOs in UFC history

Josh Emmett as UFC featherweight number six, Bryce Mitchell as number ten. You could tell Mitchell had a lot of respect for his nine-years-older opponent. At 1:57 of the first round, it appeared that was rightfully so.

For in attempting to attack Mitchell, the more experienced of the Americans countered, sending Bryce into another universe with one punch. The twenty-nine year old hopeful went down and was still out for several minutes after the punch.

The whole situation looked terrifying. On social media, experts and fans alike began to agree that Emmett was responsible for one of the most brutal knockouts we’ve ever seen.

It’s worth noting that Mitchell was even shaking for a while. After he came to, he had trouble with his memory as well as his balance. He had to leave the cage with the help of others. Let’s hope he’s all right.
