VIDEO: Onana did it again! This is how he gave Galatasaray a useless goal and quite possibly deprived United of promotion

Manchester United needed a win in Turkey to boost their chances of European Cups in the spring. At Galatasaray, they led by two goals twice, yet it turned out to be a draw. Andre Onana certainly didn’t have a clear conscience with the home side’s second goal.

Manchester United came to Turkey with a clear objective. It could be nothing less than a win. The Red Devils had just three points, having only won at home against Copenhagen.

Alejandro Garnacho scored in the 11th minute and seven minutes later Bruno Fernandes increased his team’s lead. At the time, fans of the English side probably thought it was going to be easy.

The opposite was true, Hakim Ziyech reduced the deficit after less than half an hour of play. In the 55th minute, Scott McTominay gave United back a two-goal lead, but the Red Devils couldn’t hold on to it.

Ziyech added his second in the 62nd minute and it was certainly not a clean sheet for goalkeeper Andre Onana. The ball flew for quite a long time and although it was headed towards the Cameroon goalkeeper, he couldn’t deal with it and headed it into the net.

In Onana’s defence, it should be mentioned that he was shadowed by a defender shortly before the ball hit him, so he may not have had a good view. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated mistake and United supporters are losing patience with him.

In the 71st minute we could see an equaliser after Kerem Akturkoglu’s goal and Galatasaray could celebrate, eventually bringing the game to a draw.

United are last with 4 points after this game. FC Copenhagen, who play Bayern tonight, have the same number of points. Galatasaray have one more point and are closest to promotion.
