Kayla Harrison has never lost in her career. She’s a two-time Olympic judo champion, and she had a perfect 14:0 record in MMA before her duel with Martina Jindra.
She has dominated the PFL season twice and is the favorite now. Of course, the biggest one. But in the semifinals she met a Czech sensation. Jindrová had to qualify for the PFL first, then she scored two wins and was rewarded with a match against Harrison.
Harrison is considered the best fighter outside of the UFC. According to the posted odds, Jindra’s win was tantamount to a sensation. But the Czech fighter didn’t let the pressure get to her. She knew she could only surprise.
However, the American is a great groundskeeper. And it was on the ground that Jindrova was no match for her opponent. That’s what the fight looked like. He lasted less than a minute in the stance. Then it turned into a one-sided affair.
Finally, Jindrova tapped out with a minute and 45 seconds left in the first round after Harrison successfully put her in a perfectly executed submission, specifically an arm-triangle choke.
This was the American’s fifteenth win. In the final, she will face Larrisa Pacheco, who took on Ukrainian fighter Olena Kolesnyk.
