VIDEO: No Messi, no fun. Miami fans left the stadium en masse after the Argentine was substituted
Lionel Messi has made America crazy. In his first MLS match, he scored a last-minute goal from a direct kick, and in his second start he scored two goals. But when he’s not on the pitch, fans aren’t that interested in football.

In America, football, known as soccer, is not a popular sport. The NBA, the NFL and Baseball are clearly in the lead, followed by the NHL. MLS has been more for South Americans, or Europeans living in America and a few enthusiasts.
But the arrival of Lionel Messi, one of the best players of all time, has completely changed that. Interest in the last team in the table, Inter Miami, has skyrocketed and prices have skyrocketed.
Messi first maddened America in the first game when he scored the winner from a direct kick in the setup against Cruz Azul.
In the second game against Atalanta United, he opened the scoring in the 8th minute, adding another goal in the 22nd minute. After the change of sides, he also had an assist and Inter Miami led 4-0.
In the 78th minute, coach Gerardo Martino decided to substitute Messi and a thunderous applause followed. Only to be followed by a mass walkout.
Football without Messi doesn’t seem to attract the fans so much anymore, so after the substitution of the Argentine legend, the spectators started to leave the stadium en masse.
Miami did well in the Leagues Cup, but now Messi has to work hard in MLS, where his team is in last place in the table.
