Seven rounds to go in Serie A and another round is on the agenda this weekend. Napoli, who are on course to win their third ever title, take on Salernitana. Second-placed Lazio, 17 points behind the leaders, will play Inter Milan.
If the Roman side fails to beat the Milanese giant, any win will be enough for Naples to celebrate the title. That is why the club from under Vesuvius has asked for the postponement of the match from Saturday to Sunday.
The Lazio vs Inter game is on Sunday at 12:30 and Napoli wants to play its game with Salernitana afterwards for public and security reasons. The match will probably be moved to Sunday at 15:00.
The Partenopei last won the title in 1990. Back then, with Diego Maradona still in charge. It was with the Argentine legend that they won their only two titles in history. The Neapolitan fans are real fanatics.
Even after their last win against Juventus, the city was alive and well, and the team’s stars enjoyed a spectacular welcome on their arrival from Turin. Indeed, major aces like Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia did not hide their excitement about the atmosphere.
Preparations are already in full swing in Naples, not only for the title celebrations. In fact, fans in the Casa Nuevo district have decided to hold a funeral. They have built a cemetery for all the teams in the Italian league
In the middle of the cemetery lies a wooden coffin, with the scarves of both Turin and Milan clubs. All around the coffin are crosses with the logos of each Serie A club.
