Both the overseas MSL and the Saudi Pro League are on break. Club representatives are not slacking off and are arranging preparatory matches for their wards. Just a few days before what might be the last match between two football legends, Inter Miami made its first appearance on an Asian tour, specifically in Saudi Arabia.

Inter Miami took on Al Hilal in their first match. The latter, despite missing its biggest star Neymar due to a serious knee injury, has not yet tasted the bitterness of defeat this season. No wonder they are safely at the top of the Saudi Pro League table.

But Miami’s new offensive acquisition Luis Suárez scored his first goal in his new jersey in the 34th minute when he was able to tap the ball into an uncovered net. Ten minutes later, it was two goals again when Brazilian Michael scored.

Even brilliant assist by Lionel Messi didn’t prevent the defeat

After the change of sides, it was Lionel Messi’s turn. First, he managed to reduce the difference to a single goal after a successful penalty kick. Then, just a minute later, he showed some of his genius again.

In the middle of the pitch, he sent a beautiful through pass to his young teammate David Ruiz, who managed to level the match. The assist, which took out the entire opposition defence with one touch, instantly went viral on social media.

Unfortunately, even that wasn’t enough to win the game. Almost immediately after being pulled off the field by the coach, Brazilian Malcom decided the fate of the match. Al Hilal won 4:3 after a fierce shootout, but Inter showed that they can keep up with the best team in Saudi Arabia.

Already on Thursday, the fans will receive a gift in the form of a possible last showdown between two living football legends. Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr will face Inter Miami in another friendly, with the match kicking off at 7pm CET.
