Losene Keita once again confirmed who is the number one featherweight in the Octagon. The Black Panther, as he nicknames himself, didn’t look his best in the first round, but in the second round he showed some quick grenades and finished Nik Samsonidse on KO, making him the Oktagon champion again.
Losene Keita came into the Oktagon like the wind. First he defeated Karol Rysavy, then he took on Ronald Paradeiser, Ivan Buchinger, Samuel Barko and Jakub Tichota.
He became a double champion and wanted to confirm his qualities with Mate Sanikidz. However, the long-awaited fight at Štvanica in Prague did not go as he expected and his victory was spoiled by a fracture that gave the Georgian the win in the first round.
Keita is back!
Keita had to get well and his comeback took place in Ostrava. He fought for the featherweight title with Niko Samsonids, who first defeated Roman Paulus and then Nicolae Hanteu in the Oktagon.
Their fight was the highlight of the evening of Oktagon 50 and Keita was the clear favourite. He was slow to get going, leaving the activity to his opponent, who was able to get him to the ground in the second half of the round where he controlled him.
Samsonidse won the first round and the odds on Keita increased significantly. However, those who chose to bet on the German were sharper this time. Keita went into the second round as well as he could.
First he kicked Samsonidse in the ribs, followed by a soporific punch that sent his German opponent to the floor. He fell almost unconscious and then it took only one punch for referee Jan Vobornik to jump between the two.
The match was stopped and Keita could rejoice. He first climbed out of the cage behind the promoters and then ran around the arena among the fans. He then returned to the cage, heckled Ondrej Novotny and was able to put on his well-deserved belt.
As expected, he naturally mentioned after the fight that he would like to go for the lightweight title that Ronald Paradeiser won at the same tournament. Keita acknowledged his qualities, but also praised the defeated Ivan Buchinger.
