Lionel Messi did his magic again last night. Inter Miami did not follow up their excellent start to the new edition of the MLS competition and the Argentine star saved at least a point after a great collaboration with Jordi Alba in the stoppage time. Check out the video in the article.

New season, new goals! Will Inter Miami manage to win the MLS title at least this season? It didn’t work out in the previous one, despite massive strengthening during the run-up to the competition. But the collaboration of former Barcelona teammates should help.

Inter Miami hasn’t exactly had a successful preparation for the new MLS season, at least on the sporting side. Out of eight preliminary matches, the team has only managed to win one, in Hong Kong against the local all-star team.

Moreover, the Asian tour was accompanied by injury problems for the team’s biggest star. Not surprisingly, Lionel Messi generates a huge media and fan buzz wherever he goes. However, the Argentine star has been struggling with an injury for most of the preparation and has barely started half of the matches.

This, of course, did not sit well with those who had been looking forward to his arrival for months. And they made it loud and clear during the games. However, now he seems to have recovered his health and is getting back into shape.

Already in the first round of the new MLS season, Messi gave a great performance and although he didn’t register in the match statistics in the winning match against Real Salt Lake City, he was clearly one of the best on the pitch.

Lionel Messi saved a point in the LA Galaxy’s half-time goal

Inter pulled a long one in last night’s match at the Los Angeles Galaxy ground. Already in the first half it could have lost after a penalty kick was awarded to the home team. However, former Barcelona hope Riqui Puig missed a huge chance after a great save by the goalkeeper.

The home side continued to press and Puig could have made amends for his earlier hesitation, but his shot from outside the box only hit the crossbar. What didn’t work in the first half, worked a quarter of an hour before the end of regulation time. The home team took advantage of a well-played counter-attack and Dejan Joveljic sent his team into the lead.

A glimmer of hope for Inter came in the 87th minute when home midfielder Marco Delgado took a hard tackle on Busquets in the middle of the park, which saw him receive a second yellow card. But the visitors laid siege to their opponents’ goal in vain and it looked like they would taste defeat in their second game of the season.

However, that would not be Miami’s Lionel Messi. In the stoppage time, his cooperation with Jordi Alba worked brilliantly, practically in two men they dismantled the opponent’s defense and managed to secure at least a point in five minutes twelve from the heavy soil of LA.
