VIDEO: Like Dominik Hašek! Fleury’s save took all the fans’ breath away

Minnesota Wild defeated Montreal 5:2 in their last game and recorded their second win of the season after a big loss in Toronto. Marc-André Fleury helped the visitors with his intervention, which mimicked Dominik Hasek’s famous save.
Three games, two wins – that’s the Minnesota Wild’s record so far this season. Dean Evason’s men beat Florida 2-0 in the opener, but then lost 4-7 in Toronto.
The Minnesota Wild wanted to succeed again in Montreal, and they did so from the first period. In the first period, they built up a two-goal lead, even scoring twice shorthanded. Brandon Duhaime and Connor Dewar were among the scorers.
The visiting team added two more goals in the middle part of the game, this time both goals came from the power play. Joel Eriksson Ek and Kirill Kaprizov scored. Tanner Pearson scored for Montreal.
After 40 minutes both teams went to the booths with the score 4: 1. At the start of the third period, defenseman Johnny Kovacevic was able to make another reduction.
But Fleury made a phenomenal save, mimicking Dominik Hasek’s save at the World Championship.
Minnesota still led by three goals and it’s hard to say what direction this game would have taken if Montreal had been able to cut it to at least a two-goal difference.
After five minutes and twenty seconds of play, Eriksson Ek added a fifth goal, and Alex Newhook made the final 2:5. Fleury caught 27 shots in the game and even at his age he shows that he is not an old man.
He has spent most of his career with Pittsburgh, for whom he played in the 2003/04 season. He left the Penguins organization after the 2016/17 season, but won three Stanley Cups with them.
