Napoli is going for the title and it’s mainly due to two stars. One of them is Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is undoubtedly the biggest discovery of this season. Now he has made his presence felt against Sassuolo.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Last season he played for Dinamo Batumi, in the summer he moved to Naples for only 10 million euros. He came under Vesuvius as an unknown talent who can only surprise.
But now he is one of the most dangerous men not only in the Italian Serie A, but at least in the whole of Europe. Transfermarkt estimates his value at €60 million, six times the amount he came to Naples for.
It is no wonder that the whole of Europe is now after him. Napoli fans have fallen in love with him, he reminds them of Diego Maradona in his style, which is why they have nicknamed him ‘Quaradona’.
Kvaratskhelia is an exceptional player. Still only 22 years old, he amazes with his strength, great technique, creativity, dribbling, efficiency and character. When he goes alone on goal, he has no problem passing the ball to his teammate Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen is now Serie A’s top scorer and owes much of that to the Georgian’s discovery. Kvaratskhelia, however, doesn’t have bad numbers at all either. After all, before Friday’s duel with Sassuolo, he held a competitive record of 11 goals and 14 assists in 23 games.
And against Sassuolo, he showed his genius once again when he took the ball in the middle of the field in the 12th minute and headed it straight towards the opponent’s goal. He missed several defenders and finished expertly from the edge of the box.
The Georgian is thus one of several reasons why Napoli are sovereignly first in the Serie A table.
