A truly historic night with all the trimmings. Not only did the Bahraini organization break a world record among MMA organizations, but the entire evening was spiced up with a brutal knockout that is becoming adept at ending the year.
BRAVE Combat Fighting, an organisation founded just seven years ago by Bahrain’s Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, had a historic night over the week.
In fact, the BRAVE 74 event was held for the first time in the organization’s history in France, specifically in Nantes. It was the 29th country where the organization has held its event, the most among any MMA organization in the world.
And it was definitely something to watch. Eight of the twelve fights fell by finishes, and the fight of local fighter Levy Carriel in particular was the icing on the cake of an unforgettable evening.
But his victory was by no means easy to come by. Indeed, the substitute for his originally scheduled opponent Mathieu Rakotondrazanany could have surprised right from the start of the fight and earned a valuable victory in his debut in the organization.
In fact, after a hard left hand, Carriel went to the floor, but he kept the fight on the ground to save the fight. That certainly helped him, because after the referee put both fighters back on their feet, he found his second wind and took care of the highlight of the night.
Levy actually took the opportunity to make a magical finish. With lightning speed and precision, Carriel fired a leaping switch-kick that found its mark. The lifeless body of his opponent hit the floor and the match was over.
With this victory, Carriel improved his professional record to an impressive 4-0 and remains undefeated. His knockout sent shockwaves around the martial arts world and viral footage is sure to direct the spotlight on his person.
