A great start to the PFL main season! Czech fighter Martina Jindrova improved her record to 5:2, defeating UFC veteran Vanessa Melo on her way to winning a million dollars.
Jindrova dominated the entire fight, yet was unable to end it early and scored the win on points. She added three points to the PFL table, which puts her in a tie for third place.
Just like Jindrova, three other fighters have three points, only Larissa Pacheco added six points to the table, giving her the interim lead. It is worth mentioning that the best four out of eight fighters qualify for the playoffs.
“I felt good in the match. I was in great shape and felt better than my opponent in all three rounds. I felt stronger and more aggressive, but she’s really tough. I wanted more than three points, but I managed to win and I’m happy for that,” Jindrova expressed after the match.
Her plan was to keep the match standing, which she did in all rounds. She admitted that wrestling in the PFL is a big challenge for her as she is fighting the best fighters in the lightweight division, but for that she is supremely happy.
She would love to take on Julia Budd, the former Bellator champion. Should she reach the finals, she would like to face the champion Kayla Harrison.
