Boxing Day offered some great matches in England and one of them was the clash for the South of England, which saw Southampton and Brighton teams face off. The game was quite clearly dominated by the visitors, especially thanks to the performance of Solly March.

Two teams with completely different feelings about how the Premier League’s provisional course is shaping up for them. While Southampton are found at the bottom of the league table, Brighton are confirming their rise and fighting for European Cups.

However, it was a question of how much the form of both teams had changed during the long layoff brought about by the World Cup held in Qatar.

Brighton were seen as favourites and it was evident from the start why.

As early as the 14th minute, Adam Lallana sent the Seagulls into the lead after a Solly March pass. In the 35th minute, Romain Perraud increased the opponents’ lead with an own goal and again March was involved.

March was having a fantastic game and proved it in the 56th minute when he increased the score to 3:0. His goal was fantastic. From the edge of the area, he guided the ball into the middle in front of the sixteen yard box and sent it into the left corner with his left foot.

It is worth mentioning that it was the first goal for Marche this season. After all, the 28-year-old Englishman isn’t much of a sharpshooter, nor does he collect a large number of assists. However, the game against Southampton was incredibly good for him.

Southampton at least reduced the score to 1: 3, otherwise they did not do anything in the match and remain last. Brighton temporarily hold sixth place.
