The Kooperativa NBL tries to ensure that every league game is broadcast live, however, there are times when the broadcast does not work. Apart from technical problems, human errors can occur in such cases, which happened in the exciting match between Kolín and Ústí nad Labem.

Spectators lost an amazing buzzer beater due to human error

The NBL game between Kolín and Ústí nad Labem was not missed on TVCom, where you can watch all the broadcasts from the top basketball league. The Cologne basketball team led by three points in the last seconds, but Sluneta tied the game thanks to a buzzer beater by Ty Nichols.

A buzzer beater is an accurate shot that a player hits with the sound of a buzzer. Since it was a three by Nichols, Ústí nad Labem tied the game at the very end.

However, the spectators missed this spectacle as the camera remained cut with a view of the Ústían basket, where Cologne had earlier made free throws. Instead of the basket and the players’ celebration, the spectators only saw the joy of the bench and the fans present in the hall.

With the score 89:89 it went to overtime, in which the home team Kolín won 112:108. Even so, the comparative buzzer beater is one of the things that adorn basketball and should not be neglected even in case of defeat.

However, after a human error, a recording of this shot is nowhere to be found, creating further problems. In addition to the spectators missing out on the experience, neither the league nor the club have something that could definitely have been featured in a best of the round or other video.

The NBL board is furious about the footage

National Basketball League co-op representative Simon Sedlarik issued a lengthy statement on his Twitter account. In his post, he does not hide his disappointment with the unprofessionalism of Cologne basketball.

In addition to the fact that the broadcasts from Kolin are often accompanied by problems, he did not forget to post a photo where the official BC Geosan Kolin account mocks the situation.

Problems with basketball broadcasts are not exceptional but the league is constantly trying to improve the situation. However, some teams do not make the same efforts as others. Mr Sedlařík praised Brno, Nymburk and Pardubice for their excellent cooperation.

No basketball broadcasts on TVCom are charged, so some shortcomings can be forgiven. Still, every club under the NBL should demonstrate professionalism in every field.
