In the Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen have nine points from eleven matches. That’s certainly not a positive card, and it’s not even better in the Champions League.
Leverkusen have only won at home against Atlético Madrid, who they also played on Wednesday night. The goal was clear, a win would greatly help their Europa League promotion hopes.
Adam Hložek was not missing in the starting line-up of the German side, who was written in the attack, therefore directly replacing Patrik Schick, who is not in good shape, moreover, he is coming off a minor injury.
However, Hložek played lower in the match, playing more in the offensive midfield. And he was one of the architects of the first goal, when he found a well run Moussa Diaby, who managed to get the ball behind the back of Slovenian Jan Oblak.
In the 22nd minute Yannick Carrasco managed to level the score, but luckily for the Czech team, Callum Hudson-Odoi gave Leverkusen the lead back seven minutes later.
The fans did not see any more goals in the first half and Leverkusen won it 2:1. However, Rodrigo de Paul equalised in the second half and the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
