Chicago is currently eighth in the Eastern Conference table with 29 points, holding the last playoff spot. A few hours ago they beat the club they needed to keep behind, namely Montreal.
Brian Gutierrez started everything in the ninth minute, opening the scoring. Two minutes later, the home team was up by two goals.
This time it was Maren Haile-Selassie, who was assisted by Swiss Shaqiri for Chicago’s second goal.
And in the 33rd minute it was 3:0. This time the authors of the second goal just switched their roles. Shaqiri stood up to a free direct kick, passed to Haile-Selassie, who knocked the ball back to him and then curled his shot into the top corner of the net past goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois.
