West Ham won their rescue match at Bournemouth, winning 4:0 to leapfrog their opponents in the table. Both Czechs, especially Vladimir Coufal, gave a good performance.
West Ham entered the match actively and took the lead in the fifth minute. Michail Antonio headed in a centre from a corner and gave the goalkeeper no chance.
The Hammers continued to entertain, with Said Benrahma heading into the middle of the box after a pass from Tomáš Souček. In the 12th minute the visitors were already celebrating, Vladimir Coufal’s centre was cleared into the net by Lucas Paqueta’s header.
The home side then took the initiative, but it wasn’t until the 32nd minute that they got a dangerous shot when Dominic Solanke’s shot was parried by Lukasz Fabianski. West Ham, on the other hand, added an insurance goal before half-time, Declan Rice hitting an uncompromising volley.
After the change of sides, the home side became more active, but Kieffer Moore’s first header did not end up between the three posts. Fellow attacker Solanke did the same in the 58th minute, but he didn’t threaten Fabianski either.
The visitors’ attempts were as dangerous as ever, with Benrahma’s shot having to be cleared by Brazilian Neto. In the 72nd minute, he was just a spectator when substitute Pablo Fornals made a failed acrobatic attempt.
After that, Bournemouth did turn it on, but it was too late. Solanke hit the bar, then Jaidon Anthony was saved by Fabianski and Moore missed the target for the third time. In the end, West Ham completed a five-goal demolition, but Maxwell Cornet’s shot was disallowed for offside.
West Ham jumped to 13th place, six points above the relegation zone, with the 4-0 win. Bournemouth are two places and one point worse off.
