Sunday offered a good dose of football entertainment across Europe. The football public is entertained by several moments, one of the most talked about and most talked about is surprisingly from the Dutch Eredivisie, where Feyenoord’s goalkeeper “shone” in the match against Twente.
A great goal by Victor Osimhen, an incredible goal by Kaoru Mitoma or a sensational draw between Wrexham and Sheffield United. In short, Sunday offered many beautiful football moments or stories.
One not so beautiful, but still entertaining one was unexpectedly taken care of by Dutch Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow, who had quite a lot of work to do in the Eredivisie match against Twente.
Feyenoord drew 1-1 with Twente, but it was a clash between the two leading teams in the table. Feyenoord lead the league, Twente are now six points behind the leaders in fifth position, with Václav Černý and Michal Sadílek among the driving forces.
And what did Bijlow actually do? It was the 38th minute, his team was leading 1:0 and the dangerous Twente were on the counter-attack. Feyenoord’s goalkeeper made a great and quick run and slid the ball out of the box.
But that was not all. Seeing that the Twente player was trying to take advantage of the empty net and was going to throw the ball into the area as quickly as possible, he decided to run the ball instead of returning to the goal, which he kicked to throw it back into the area.
Bijlow, of course, gets a yellow card. However, he prevented a goal and, in addition, he got on the nerves of the Twente players. Virgil Misidjan, who wanted to play the ball quickly, did not hold on and tried to hit Bijlow with the ball.
But as already mentioned, Feyenoord did not keep a clean sheet despite this. And Sadilek contributed to this, as his centre found Joshua Brené in the 68th minute, who equalised for the final 1-1.
