VIDEO: Fantastic save by De Ligt! That’s how he kicked a certain PSG goal off the line

Bayern’s duel with PSG was probably the most anticipated Champions League semi-final. The German team came away from Paris with a one-goal lead, which Vitinha could have equalised in the first half, but Matthijs De Ligt intervened with a fantastic save.
A battle of individuality versus team concept. But that’s what you could call the Champions League semi-final between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
In the first match, German discipline prevailed as Bayern won 1: 0. The defence, led by Matthijs de Ligt, managed to keep a clean sheet.
The Dutch stopper was a bit criticized after his arrival at Bayern, more was expected from him. But the 23-year-old defender needed more time to acclimatise, he is gradually getting used to it and is a solid part of Bayern’s defensive unit. And against PSG he pulled it off twice.
First, in the 25th minute, PSG kicked off a quick counter-attack, which was pulled along the left side by Nuno Mendes. The Portuguese found Lionel Messi underneath him on the penalty spot, who made virtually no mistake from those positions.
However, the speedy Davies flew into his shot and blocked Messi’s shot with a fantastic slide. There was a flurry after that, Messi got to the ball again, but his attempt was stopped by De Ligt with dedication.
De Ligt’s even more scintillating moment came in the 38th minute. Goalkeeper Yann Sommer received a pass from the Dutch stopper, but instead of taking the rebound, he took the knee and tried to pass between the pressing Mbappé – Hakimi pair.
Logically, this was not a good move, Hakimi poked the ball out to Vitinho who fired into an empty net. It looked like PSG were about to take the lead when suddenly, with a great slide, de Ligt arrived and kicked the ball off the line.
