The final NHL playoff series between the Florida Panthers and the Vegas Golden Knights has been very exciting. Although the duels of these two rivals in the Stanley Cup finals do not have the same viewership as the games of other teams in recent years, they definitely have something to offer.
On Saturday night, the Panthers were unable to even the series and lost to the Golden Knights 2:3.
The first goal of the game was scored by Chandler Stephenson after one minute and thirty-nine seconds. The visitors then outscored their opponents by three goals in the second period, forcing Florida to tie the game 0:3.
The visitors struck at 27:28 when Stephenson scored his second goal of the game. And about three and a half minutes later it was 3:0. This time, Swedish forward William Karlsson was on the receiving end of the scoring action.
However, the home team managed to reduce the deficit and score a contact goal during the rest of the game. Brandon Montour scored four minutes before the end of the second period, and Aleksander Barkov reduced it to a one-goal difference at the beginning of the third period.
The tension gradually increased during the last period, which was also evident in the interference of the players on the ice. But the home fans and players were probably the most upset by the moment about a minute and a half before the end of the game, when Vegas defenseman Brayden McNabb was ejected for a clear cross from Matthew Tkachuk.
A wild end to the game
Despite their activity, the Panthers couldn’t score one more goal and lost 2: 3. Due to the tense game and the interference at the end, which went unpunished by the referee, there was a big melee after the final siren.
You can watch the whole moment in the video below. The referees handed out several penalties at the end of the game, Vegas goalie Adin Hill also received two minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct. The Golden Knights will have a chance to end the Finals series and win the famous Stanley Cup for the first time on Wednesday night.
