VIDEO: Cristiano Ronaldo scores his first hat-trick of the year, just a few goals away from the mythical goal. Al-Nassr is still 12 points off the lead

After the national break, club football returned to the scene this weekend and with it the top Saudi Arabian league. That meant one thing. Cristiano Ronaldo was able to make amends for Portugal’s failed duel with Slovenia.
Slovenia nullified the Iberian side, winning 2-0, and the winner of five Ballon d’Ors didn’t even make a dent in the match. After returning to the Middle East, he had a great motivation to make up for his poor performance in the national team.
And he did. Slovenia replaced Al-Taee as the opponent, the third worst team in the competition, which collected only 22 points in 25 matches, losing 15 times. Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal-scoring was all the easier.
However, it didn’t look too clear-cut in the first half. Al-Nassr did send Otavio into the lead in the 20th minute, but two minutes later it was level. But goal scorer Misidjan was sent off in the 36th minute and that, of course, seemed to decide the game.
Still in the first-half setup, the second team of the Saudi Arabian league regained the lead after Ghareeb’s goal and the second act already belonged to the Portuguese legend.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored another hat-trick
Cristiano Ronaldo waited until the 65th minute to score his first goal of the match, increasing his team’s lead to 3-1. Two minutes later, he scored a second time and completed the scoring in the 87th minute. He helped the team to a 5:1 victory.
He is currently the league’s top scorer with 26 goals, but Aleksandar Mitrovic is only 4 goals behind him. It is worth noting that even the Portuguese’s goals are not helping Al-Nassr to get closer to the title. Al-Hilal leads the league by 12 points.
From an individual point of view, however, Cristiano Ronaldo must be satisfied. He already has 882 career goals and is just short of the mythical 900 goals mark. His hat-trick on Saturday was the 64th of his career and the first of the year, although none of his goals have been world class. His last hat trick came last August.
“This is how we do it. A great win and another hat-trick,” the Portuguese rejoiced after the game. At 39 years old, a great achievement.
