AS Rome, under the legendary Portuguese coach, is fighting for a place in the Champions League. Before Saturday’s game, they had 37 points and were fifth in the Italian Serie A table.
The club from the Italian capital decided the match in the first six minutes of the game. Both goals were assisted by Argentine Paulo Dybala.
In both cases, the home club could rejoice from goals scored from corner kicks. Dybala’s centre first found the head of Roger Ibañez and a few minutes later Tammy Abraham scored in the same way.
At the start of the second half, the home club could have made a similarly successful start to the half. But that’s when they ran into Empoli’s goalkeeper, Vicario, who made an absolutely brilliant save.

José Mourinho’s players confirmed their role as favourites and moved up to third in the table.
There they will remain after a complete twenty-first round, as city rival Lazio Rome, only drew at Verona.
