VIDEO: Comical simulation of Neymar. The Brazilian received a red card for this theatrical fall
PSG’s two main stars had a very different game after returning from the World Cup. While Kylian Mbappé was once again the hero, Neymar had to endure a bitter sending off. This time not from the tournament, but for a red card.
PSG’s two main stars had a very different game after returning from the World Cup. While Kylian Mbappé was once again the hero, Neymar had to endure a bitter sending off. This time not from the tournament, but for a red card.
Yet the match against Strasbourg started well for PSG. In the 14th minute, Marquinhos scored after Neymar’s assist and the Brazilians made up for their sad elimination from the World Cup quarter-finals.
But in the 51st minute, Marquinhos proved that he hasn’t been completely lucky in recent weeks. He scored his own goal to level the match at 1-1.
And in the 61st minute, it was Neymar’s big moment. First he saw a yellow card for a foul on his opponent, then a minute later he wanted to win a foul and a penalty for himself.
But it was definitely not a penalty, Neymar fell without contact with his opponent. The referee had no mercy on him, showed him a second yellow card in two minutes and had to pull out a red card as well.
Already in the first half Neymar tried to theatrically simulate a penalty and his jump was somewhat unnecessary.
PSG played with ten men from the 62nd minute, but it didn’t bother the Parisians that much. In the 95th minute, French hero Kylian Mbappé came on again and converted the penalty to win the game.
Thanks to this win, Christophe Galtier’s charges are safely in first place in Ligue 1 with 44 points. Second-placed Lens have 36 points and a game to play.
