An extraordinary spectacle. Brentford were four goals up at half-time. De Gea’s miss after Josh Dasilva’s shot started Brentford on a high. Mathias Jensen scored the second goal and then Ben Mee added a third with a header. Bryan Mbeumo then added a fourth goal a few minutes later.
David De Gea committed a fatal foul in the 10th minute after a shot by Josh Dasilva. His low shot slipped through the goalkeeper’s hands and into the bottom corner.
In the 18th minute Manchester United lost the ball in their own penalty area and Mathias Jensen increased the gap to two goals for Brentford.
Ben Mee scored in the 30th minute after a corner kick from close range with a header after Ivan Toney headed the ball past him.
A few minutes later Ivan Toney raced on the counter attack and found Bryan Mbeum who added a fourth goal. David de Gea could only watch the shot, which ended up in the bottom left corner of the net.
