Arsenal won the Sunday London derby 2:0 at Tottenham, and besides the beautiful football spectacle, the match also brought great emotions. Especially at the very end, when the Gunners goalkeeper was kicked by one of the home supporters.

The first goal of the game in this North London derby came in the 14th minute when the home side’s goalkeeper Hugo Lloris scored his own goal.

But Arsenal players “took care of the second goal” when Martin Ødegaard took the ball after a pass from Bukay Saka and sent a beautiful shot into the bottom right corner.

The Gunners once again managed to beat their old rivals, after the last 3:1 win they didn’t score this time and went on to win 2:0. However, this match brought a lot of emotions, especially after the final whistle.

After the end of the match, tensions boiled over between Richarlison and Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. The Tottenham striker pushed him in the head, Ramsdale then took a kick from a Spurs fan.

You can see the whole situation in the attached twitter post below. And needless to say, there was quite a scuffle on the pitch after that moment.

Anyway, thanks to this win, Arsenal have again built a slightly bigger lead over second-placed Manchester City, who on the other hand lost 1:2 to United in the Manchester derby.

Gunners goalkeeper’s statement

“The (Tottenham) fans gave me a hard time throughout the second half. I gave it back to some of them. Most of the fans were sporting and in tune with the game, but then one fan came up to me and punched me in the back,” Ramsdale said in an interview with Sky Sports about the events after the game.

“That’s what happened. And it’s a shame because at the end of the day it’s football. The other players were trying to get me away afterwards, luckily nothing drastic actually happened. But it has a sour taste to it,” he added.
