Formula 1 has its next race of the season on Sunday, more specifically the Dutch Grand Prix. However, after 16 laps, Williams driver Logan Sargeant will not be continuing after crashing at Turn 8.
Logan Sargeant suffered his second crash during the Dutch Grand Prix. The race weekend was initially positive for him.
The American Williams racer scored a result in the second part of Saturday’s qualifying session that catapulted him into the final qualifying segment, where he could fight for the best possible position at the start of Sunday’s race.
However, he skidded on the exit of Turn 2 and subsequently crashed into the barrier. He therefore started the Dutch Grand Prix from tenth place.
All drivers started the race on dry tyres, but just as the Dutch Grand Prix was about to start, it started to rain, which caused a lot of chaos. The drivers gradually went to their mechanics, the order changing rapidly.
But then the rain stopped at the Zandvoort circuit and the track dried up. But just as the race was entering a quieter phase, it was Sargeant who provided further drama.
He skidded on lap 16 of the Dutch Grand Prix and smashed his car at Turn 8. You can see the whole moment in the video below.
The race is currently in its 33rd round and Sargeant is the only driver not continuing in the Dutch Grand Prix. The track conditions are dry, but according to the radar, another cloud is coming in and it should start raining.
In any case, Max Verstappen is in the lead, followed by Sergio Pérez. Fernando Alonso is also on the provisional podium at the moment.
