VIDEO: Beautiful Toronto action! Tavares beat Chicago’s goalie, but it wasn’t enough to win

The Canadian-American NHL offered five very interesting games on Monday night, one of which was the Toronto-Chicago game. The Maple Leafs lost to their opponent 1:4, the only, but beautiful goal was scored by John Tavares.

The fans at Scotiabank Arena didn’t see any goals in the opening twenty minutes and had to wait for the middle part of the game to start. Anyway, it was Chicago that outshot its opponent.

It was the visitors who opened the scoring, namely Mackenzie Entwistle after three minutes of play, who sent Chicago into the lead after assists from Andreas Athanasiou and Boris Katchouk.

However, the reaction didn’t wait long. And even though it was the only goal scored by the men in blue, it was a good one.

Defenseman Mark Giordano started it in his own defensive zone, sending the puck to the middle zone. There, William Nylander took it, weaved his way between Blackhawks defenders, then passed the puck to Tavares, who didn’t mess with it.

He sent his shot into the top right corner, and goalie Arvid Soderblom had no chance. You can see the action in the video below.

Toronto didn’t win the game in the end

The second period was dominated by Chicago, who added two more goals. First, Corey Perry scored at 34:46 and Tyler Johnson used a power play with three minutes left in the second period.

In the last part of the game the spectators saw three goals, but two of them were disallowed by the referee after coach’s calls.

Neither Taylor Hall nor Auston Matthews were able to celebrate their goals. And so the last goal was scored by Taylor Raddysh six seconds before the final siren, who scored into an empty net.

Chicago has four points after four games and is in fourth place in the Western Conference. Toronto also has four points in three games and is currently sixth in the East.
