Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-1 at Old Trafford in the sixth round of the Premier League. Antony scored the first goal in the red jersey, after the change of sides Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford scored twice.

The Red Devils started actively, in the ninth minute Diogo Dalot’s centre found Christian Eriksen, who missed from a volley. A minute later, William Saliba tried the other side, but the ball came down and the French stopper missed the target.

In the 13th minute, the Gunners went in front, but Gabriel Martinelli’s goal was disallowed due to an earlier foul by Martin Odegaard. After that, the game settled down until David de Gea had to pull up against Martinelli’s header in the 33rd minute after a great pass from Odegaard.

Two minutes later, however, they were celebrating on the other side when Antony finished off a successful combination.

After the change of sides, the Gunners threatened twice. First Odegaard took the ball off the ball, then Saka narrowly missed the back post from an angle.

In the 59th minute, however, the visitors were already celebrating, as Odegaard was again the architect at the start of the action and Saka at the end.

However, the joy was short-lived for the visiting side, three minutes later Bruno Fernandes’ pass found Rashford and he fired past Aaron Ramsdale.

In the 76th minute it was two goals up, Rashford this time clearing into an empty net after a pass from Eriksen.

After the third goal, Manchester United kept the game close, but the frustration was evident in the Arsenal players. The home side still had a few very promising chances, perhaps the biggest thrown away by Fred, but all the points stayed at Old Trafford.

Next week, the Red Devils travel to London to take on Crystal Palace. Arsenal will welcome back Everton, who managed to rob Liverpool of points on Saturday.
