Sergio Agüero had to end his rich football career prematurely due to heart problems. He can now be seen regularly streaming on Twitch. However, he suffered a minor arrhythmia on Wednesday during a live broadcast and afterwards explained to fans what actually happened and why he may not have to head to the hospital.
In December 2021, Argentine forward Sergio Agüero had to hang up his cleats. The reason was a cardiac arrhythmia he suffered two months earlier in a match for Barcelona.
Since his forced end, we can see him quite regularly on Twitch, the most popular streaming platform.
On Wednesday, fans could even see him alongside popular Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos.
And it was during that stream that the Argentine suffered a minor incident. Agüero took a strange pause and then caught himself at heart. Llanos asked him what was wrong.
“I think… I think… I just had a little arrhythmia,” the former Manchester City player replied. Llanos then asked him if they would go to hospital, however the answer was clear.
“The cardiac arrhythmia alarmed the pacemaker, which then responded to the problem with a small discharge. I have a chip in my body that checks and controls everything and sends the appropriate signal to the device,” Agüero explained.
Fortunately, thanks to the pacemaker, nothing serious happened and Agüero was able to continue streaming.
Although his football career is over, he played an extra 20 minutes for Barcelona in January this year, not the Spanish side but the Ecuadorian one.
