The world’s oldest football competition is back. The FA Cup will be shown in the next few days, but already on Friday there was a clash of Premier League teams.
Manchester United hosted Everton and there was certainly plenty to watch. Brazilian Antony sent the Red Devils into the lead in the fourth minute.
However, the visitors equalised in the 14th minute from Conor Coady’s kick. It must be said, however, that it wasn’t so much for the team in blue.
In fact, the goal goes to goalkeeper David de Gea, who, in a clash of ideas, apparently made a mistake that would put any goalkeeper to shame, including one who plays in the rainforest.
The experienced goalkeeper was standing by the bar and the ball went below his knee level. At that moment, he was obviously thinking what to do and finally spread his legs and the ball fell through them behind his back.
Coady had no more hard work there and sent the ball into the net. And de Gea has been the laughing stock ever since, which no one begrudges him.
After Martin Dúbravka’s poor cup performance, United fans are definitely wondering if they have accidentally done something wrong to the football god.
But in the end they didn’t have to be sorry. Coady scored his own goal in the 52nd minute and at the very end of the game Marcus Rashford increased the score to 3-1 from a penalty kick.
