Manchester United once again confirmed that they are not in the best shape. Everton, who are struggling to stay in the league, managed to beat them 1-0. Cristiano Ronaldo, who smashed the mobile phone of a 14-year-old Toffees fan, took the defeat hard.

Manchester United are struggling, having won only one of their last seven competitive matches. On Saturday, they even fell short against Everton, who are doing their best to stay in the Premier League. The Toffees managed a 1-0 win at Goodison Park.

The Red Devils players took the loss hard. Goalkeeper David De Gea expressed his frustration in media interviews, while star Cristiano Ronaldo unfortunately took it out in a different way. He smashed the mobile phone of a 14-year-old Everton fan as he went to the changing rooms after the game.

The 14-year-old was Jake Harding, who struggles with autism. His mother Sarah Kelly described the situation to the media. Her son was reportedly filming Ronald’s leg, which was bleeding. He didn’t even speak to Ronald. As is clear from the footage, with one swing, the Portuguese man did the damage and moved on.

The situation is now being investigated by the local police. There were reports of a young boy being assaulted. The police are therefore communicating with both clubs and are also planning to call witnesses to establish whether an offence has been committed.

“Jake was in complete shock. He’s autistic, he also has dyspraxia so he didn’t really take in what was happening until he got home. He’s really disappointed about it. It’s put him off going to the next game. It was his first game, and then this happened… Ithad been a great day up until then,” the youngster’s mother told the Liverpool Echo.

Although Jake is an Everton fan, he was looking forward to seeing Ronaldo, considering him a huge icon. His mother felt the same way about him until that fateful moment. She would understand Ronaldo’s behaviour if her son was waving a mobile phone in the Portuguese’s face, but in this case she is disappointed by his behaviour.

Ronaldo then apologised for his behaviour on Instagram. He is aware that he is supposed to set an example, which he has now failed to do as he was unable to deal with his emotions. So he invited the 14-year-old to the match at Old Trafford.
