The announcement of the rematch of the Match of the Century between Karlos Vemola and Attila Vegh is imminent! Both fighters have basically confirmed it, although everything is still not completely agreed upon. Now Végh has come out with a positive statement.
Ever since the Octagon 15 tournament, there has been talk of a rematch of the Match of the Century. When Attila Végh finished Karlos Vemola, The Terminator said he would do everything he could to make it right.
It’s now been three years and everything seems to be on track. Vémola is finishing opponent after opponent and now Patrik Kincl will face him.
But this fight, or more accurately the outcome, should have no bearing on the eventual rematch. All parties are supposed to have reached an agreement, but the formalities are still not completed.
“We have talked about it many times in three years. Now we are the closest we have come in that time to agreeing. It is now realistically more likely that there will be the fight than that there won’t be. In percentage terms, we are close to 80 percent,” Végh said on the 1:1 programme.
That number sounds positive and we can look forward to an announcement, possibly even a venue. The biggest hall is the O2 arena, but maybe the organization will prepare some surprises for us.
And why did Végh suddenly decide to rematch? The reason is certain, he talks about it himself. A fight like this can make good money, and if he wants to end his career, it could be a rather sweet ending even if he loses.
