Valverde: What would I give to win the Champions League? Not my son, but maybe my wife, he laughs

Real Madrid will challenge Liverpool in the Champions League final on Saturday and for some players, winning the club’s most valuable competition is extremely important. Like for Federico Valverde, who would sacrifice his wife in exaggeration.
For several Real Madrid players, the Champions League final has become rather routine. Marcelo, Dani Carvajal, Casemiro, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema are all entering their fifth final, more than some clubs in their entire history.
It’s just that Los Blancos also have hungry youngsters in their squad for whom this is the first opportunity to win the Eared Cup. And that includes the likes of Vinícius, Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga, Eder Militao and Federico Valverde.
It is the Uruguayan all-rounder who is a huge heartthrob. He dreamed of wearing the white jersey from a young age, joining the club as a teenager from Peñarol and working his way up to the A-team. Although it’s hard to break through the Casemiro-Kroos-Modric magic trio in the centre of midfield, his versatility meant that Ancelotti found a place for him on the right wing, only to play him in the starting XI.
He leaves everything on the pitch every game, he never concedes anything. He proved his commitment to the white colours last year when he was more of a substitute and both Manchester United and Bayern Munich offered him a place in the starting line-up. However, he decided to stay at the Santiago Bernabéu and fight for a place in the starting line-up. And he rightly won it, albeit in a different position.
A wife for the Champions League?
For his loyalty and commitment to the club, he is very popular among the fans. He proves that Real Madrid is everything to him in his interviews, and in his latest one for Diario AS he entertained all the listeners.
“I really want to win the Champions League. What would I give for it? Not my son, but maybe my wife…,” laughed the 23-year-old midfielder.
His wife Mina Bonino is a former Argentine football reporter and they are currently raising their two-year-old son Benicio together. Mina is very active on social media, so they are probably the most popular couple among Real fans.
In January, for example, she motivated her husband that if he doesn’t fire, she will throw away the cookbook and cook herself. Valverde then made the decision in extra time of the Super Cup semi-final against Barcelona.
Her background makes her a big fan of Argentina’s River Plate, so she responded in kind. “I don’t judge him. If River won the next Copa Libertadores, I’d trade him too. You have to sacrifice your friends, everything for 14 (Real can win their 14th LM title), ” Mina replied.
