Odriozola and Diaz have not played even 10 minutes
Real Madrid have started nine games in all competitions so far this season. Alvaro Odriozola, however, hasn’t experienced the atmosphere of any of the duels, having not played even one minute. He is still waiting for his chance.
Mariano Diaz is no better. He has only spent nine minutes of the nine games on the pitch, and that was in the Champions League match against Leipzig, when he came on as a substitute for a comfortable 2-0 lead.
Unwanted stars
Another overlooked player is Marco Asensio. He is still a relatively young footballer who has definitely seen better days at Real, when he was a much needed part of his club’s line-up. However, he has played 47 minutes so far and that’s from four games. In that short time, however, he has managed to score a goal, and that was for Leipzig.
158 minutes is Eden Hazard’s minutes this season. He has appeared in four games in total, in which he secured the win over Celtic, scoring a goal and an assist. The Belgian international would definitely fancy a different position in the team.
The fifth least utilised player is Nacho. He is one of Real Madrid’s biggest heartthrobs, having spent his entire career at the club and is one of the team’s four captains. However, he has only spent 211 minutes on the pitch so far.
If we look at the other side of the rankings, goalkeeper Courtois has spent the most minutes on the pitch and is the only one of the squad who has played all possible minutes this season.
