Unexpected trouble for Erling Haaland! Will his former teammate deprive him of the King of Scorers crown?
Erling Haaland certainly hasn’t been in dazzling form in recent weeks. He is currently tied for first place in the English Premier League scorers table with Cole Palmer of Chelsea. Will the Norwegian striker be deprived of the goal scoring crown by his former teammate?

Erling Haaland’s adaptation to the Premier League has been excellent. He scored 36 goals in his debut season, making him the competition’s top scorer.
In recent weeks, however, his goalscoring machine has stalled slightly. He currently has twenty accurate shots to his name, which is the same as Cole Palmer of Chelsea. So it’s shaping up to be a huge battle.
Interestingly, the England international was still donning the Citizens jersey at the start of the current season. However, he decided to transfer to Stamford Bridge because of the increased playing load.
And as it seems, it was the right choice. The twenty-one year old footballer is absolutely the clear driving force of the Blues, who are still fighting for European Cups. They are just three points behind sixth-placed Newcastle, with a game to spare.
Palmer has been on a tear in recent games. In the home game against Manchester United, he scored a hat-trick in the final minutes, and even scored four times in the Everton net.
The last goal was from a penalty, but before that there was a scuffle between teammates. “Palmer is the player to take penalty kicks. It can’t happen again, we can’t act like children again.
I told the players that this is the last time I will accept this kind of behaviour,” said coach Pochettino at the post-match press conference. Palmer has yet to make a mistake from a penalty kick in a Chelsea jersey, boosting his chances in the top scorer battle.
Ollie Watkins, who has made nineteen appearances so far, would certainly like to have his say. So we’ll undoubtedly have an exciting battle in the final rounds.
