Andriy Yarmolenko was at the end of his contract at West Ham. The London club probably did not offer him a new contract due to his age. Therefore, Yarmolenko was forced to look for a new engagement. So, he comes to Al-Ain FC as a free agent and will most likely earn a good chunk of money as an up and coming star.
The Ukrainian winger can be used on both sides of the pitch. At 189 centimetres tall, he is very agile and quick. He has a hard shot which he has managed to get West Ham fans excited on 8 occasions.
The left-footed footballer has scored over 100 and 155 goals respectively in all the competitions he has played in. His career started in Desna, Ukraine, from where he moved to the famous Dynamo Kiev. In the Ukrainian capital he played a beautiful 340 matches. He managed to score an incredible 137 goals for this club.
After a successful stint in the Ukrainian capital, he moved to Borussia Dortmund. Here he spent only one season. In the black and yellow colors he played only 18 matches, in which he scored only 3 goals. Despite the few goals scored, he impressed football fans with his football skills, and transferred to English West Ham for 23 million euros.
It remains to be seen whether this engagement will be the final one of Yarmolenko’s career, or whether we will see him in another jersey. Yarmolenko is still 32 years old, so he still does not have to hang up his cleats after this engagement and may consider a return to Europe.
