Ukraine vs. England: preview and betting tips

The quarter-final programme of this year’s Euros will end in Rome with a clash between Ukraine and England. And in terms of experience, the match will have a clear favourite. But this year’s championship has already offered plenty of surprises, so let’s take a look at what Ukraine could surprise their opponents with.

But let’s start with Gareth Southgate’s men. England have kept a clean sheet for around 570 minutes, having last scored in a World Cup qualifier against Poland.

The Ukrainians entered the tournament with a defeat against the Netherlands and were not far from packing their bags after their loss to Austria.

However, in the end they advanced from the last qualifying place, i.e. from the third-placed teams, and then when they knocked out the Swedes in the last minute of extra time in the eighth-final, they could start looking forward to the first quarter-final at the European Championship in history.

Shevchenko’s boys can go into the match with a completely clear head, because they have definitely not only achieved their goal, but are far beyond it. In addition, England are moving for the first time during this year’s tournament and could have a bit of a weaker start in Rome.

Moreover, in the last two matches between them, Ukraine managed to draw twice with England. And this quarter-final will be no exception.
