Russian terrorists led by Vladimir Putin have so far been unsuccessful in their attempts to invade Ukraine. Equally futile are the efforts of European big clubs interested in a man who, even in difficult times, makes the Ukrainian people happy.
Shakhtar Donetsk, despite a long absence from competitive matches, has returned to sharp form. They dominate the domestic scene and can still fight for qualification to the knockout fights in the Champions League. However, they must win their last game against Leipzig.
One man in particular has been outstanding. Mykhaylo Mudryk. A Shakhtar alumnus, but he didn’t have an easy path to the A-team. He had to show his potential on loan at Arsenal Kiev or Desna Chernihiv.
Last season, he was still rather a bit of an underachiever, but now he has hit the ground running. The 21-year-old winger is showing world-class football skills. Strength, speed, finishing, game overview, shooting from distance, technique, duels. He’s got it all.
Will he be more expensive than Antony? Who’s interested in him?
Mudryk has played in 11 competitive games this season, scoring 6 goals and adding 7 assists. He also contributed five goals (3+2) in the Champions League. It is no wonder that the world’s big clubs are interested in him. For example, Manchester City or Arsenal, which was confirmed by Shakhtar’s deputy sporting director Carlo Nicolini.
But he won’t be free. “There are many English teams interested in him. There are also Spanish or French clubs. But you need the right price. Together with Mbappe, Leo and Vinicius, Mudryk is the best in his position,”Nicolini explainedthe reasons to Calciomercato.it.
“Is €40 million enough? We’re not talking about such numbers. 50 million? We don’t even call the club president. We value Mudryk more than Antony, who went to Manchester United for €100 million,” he added.
To make matters worse, there have been statements from Shakhtar that the Ukrainian big club is definitely not in a situation where they have to sell their gem. However, Mudryk himself has stated that he would love to play in the Premier League and that he would have a hard time saying no Arsenal.
