The UFC returns to Europe on Saturday night when it hosts the 286-rated event at London’s O2 Arena. But ahead of the gala, the (in)morality on the part of some of the organization’s stars and the UFC’s inaction are being addressed.
Kamaru Usman, Justin Gaethje. These are some of the biggest stars that will be introduced to European fans at UFC 286. The gala event is being held at London’s O2 Arena, and the immoral behavior they committed in December is drawing all the more criticism.
For both fighters visited Chechnya and with it the local dictator Razman Kadyrov, a friend of Vladimir Putin, a man who has been accused of war crimes and for whom an arrest warrant has been issued.
Moreover, Kadyrov is involved in Russian terrorism on Ukrainian territory. That is why, of course, it is widely reported that Gaethje and Usman have been testing in Chechnya the various weapons with which Russian aggressors are trying to conquer Ukraine.
Usman is a former dominant UFC champion, Gaethje fought for the title twice for a change. And to make matters worse, former UFC champion and even Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo also visited Kadyrov with them.
In addition, Cejudo already has another title fight lined up when he challenges champion Aljamain Sterling after a long layoff.
And why is the situation only now being resolved? Firstly, because the UFC tournament is being held in Europe, but also because two of the three fighters are appearing.
In addition, the organization has long faced criticism, as this is not the first time some fighters have been linked to Kadyrov in this way. The UFC didn’t react in any way when Russia invaded Ukraine either. Basically, everything is transitioning as Russia is a big market for the organization.
