UFC return to Prague? It would be great if we could do a tournament in the Czech Republic, said Dana White
UFC has already appeared in Prague once, now there is a chance that it will return here again. The reason is the huge success of Jiri Prochazka, who won the welterweight championship. What did Dana White say about a possible tournament in the Czech Republic?
UFC has already appeared in Prague once, now there is a chance that it will return here again. The reason is the huge success of Jiri Prochazka, who won the welterweight championship. What did Dana White say about a possible tournament in the Czech Republic?
Jiri Prochazka is the UFC champion and that’s one of the reasons why fans were wondering how great it would be to see him fight domestically. The organization has already visited here in February 2019, featuring the likes of Jan Blachowicz.
In theory, Procházka could fight him in the future and why not in Prague? It would be a huge event and it would sell out in no time.
But unfortunately the O2 Arena is not inflatable and for that reason only one tournament was held there. But thanks to Prochazka’s success, that could soon change.
“We would like to do events everywhere. But it always comes down to the current situation. So far we’ve struggled a lot with covid, so we’ve kind of learned that we go where it’s easy for us to do an event and do a proper business. That’s the way it’s set up now.
But to answer the question, yes, sooner or later we just want to show up everywhere. The George welcome reminded me of when Brady won the Super Bowl and went home to celebrate. That’s what it looked like. It would be great if we could do a tournament in the Czech Republic,” said Dana White, UFC president.
So the chance of a comeback is there and it’s certainly not a small one. However, it is still early days, but if Matej Peňaz and Tereza Bleda’s contract is won, no one would doubt that the Czech Republic deserves it.
