The UFC is looking for all kinds of ways to raise awareness of its brand. The popular MMA organization will even venture to unusual destinations next year.
No longer fighting only in the USA, we can more often see the organization in Europe or Asia, where among others, Jiri Prochazka fought a title fight against Glover Teixeira.
At the beginning of next year we can look forward to a tournament in South America, more precisely in Brazil, a month later even in Australia, where the UFC will show for the first time.
However, the organization is also planning a tournament on the last possible continent. Africa is an incredible draw, the people there also devour MMA and would definitely enjoy a tournament.
Dana White himself has already admitted that they are now sorting out the country in which it will be held. Most likely it will be Nigeria, there are more reasons.
After all, Africa’s most populous country has two fighters in the UFC, namely Kamara Usman and Israel Adesanya. The latter lost his championship belt over the weekend.
And they are the ones who should definitely not miss out on the tournament, they wouldn’t let something like this get away. Other African fighters, such as Francis Ngannou, could also make an appearance.
He holds the heavyweight belt, but it’s still unclear if he’ll want to continue in the UFC. And when can we expect to see this interesting tournament? Quite possibly at the end of next year.
