UFC fighter David Dvorak reacts to feud with Pirate at Octagon 31

David Dvorak holds the flag of Czech MMA in the world’s biggest organization UFC, but he also trains alongside newly crowned Octagon champion Patrik Kinceloe. At Saturday’s Oktagon 31 tournament, they took on the defeated Samuel “The Pirate” Kristofich.

Saturday night was another Oktagon 31 gala, with Patrik Kincl and Samuel Krištofič in the main event. Kincl won the middleweight championship belt after a dominant performance in a five round points bout.

Before the fight there was a hostile atmosphere between the two fighters, which was evident even after the fight was over. Even after the whistle blew, the Pirate threw a few more punches directed at Kinclova and referee Pavel Touš had to intervene, throwing the Slovakian fighter to the ground.

David Dvorak commented on the dispute with Pirat

In Patrik Kinclas’ corner was his training partner, David Dvorak, undefeated in the UFC so far. He got into a cross with the defeated Pirate after the end of the fight. Dvorak commented on the heated situation on his Instagram. “Everyone saw the shit Pirat did and how he acted,” he also assessed the Slovak fighter’s behavior in the fight on his Instagram. He was reacting to Kinceloe’ s accusations about the unfairness of the Slovak fighter’s fight.

“During the fifth round Pirat talked a lot to Patrik and started talking to me,” he responded to the provocations of Pirat directed to his person. According to Dvorak’s statement, the Pirate should have challenged him to a fight, as the fight with Kinclo would end. And this awakened the proverbial fire in the Czech fighter who is giving out punches in the UFC.

“Then came the whistle and the end of the fight, but the Pirate attacked Patrik again unnecessarily and at that moment I was black and the ‘fight mode’ was on,” he described the upset at that moment. “I didn’t care about the size of the dog and I was ready to do what I know how to do,” he reacted to the significant weight difference between the two fighters. While the Pirate fights at middleweight up to 84 kg, David Dvorak is a flyweight up to 57 kg.

Novotny also commented on the heated situation

Oktagon promoter Ondrej Novotny also commented on the heated situation at the press conference. “I think that there was a misunderstanding,” he interjected into the discussion between the Pirate and Kinclo about the alleged assault of Dvořák by the Pirate. “David thought that Pirate could still finish the game the way he did and actually David pushed Pirate away,” he explained his view of the situation. “He was trying to defend Patrik in a situation in which the teams were already completely misunderstanding each other,” Novotný added.

The heated situation eventually calmed down after a while and the match went as well as it could. Both opponents shook hands and Pirate admitted his defeat. However, David Dvorak showed his fighting spirit and will definitely need it.

That’s because on Sunday, March 27, in the morning hours of our time, he will take on Brazilian Matheus Nicolau, the No. 8 ranked fighter in the flyweight division, in the next UFC Fight Night gala.
