UFC champion takes a sharp and sexist swipe at popular Paige VanZant: Men will pay more to see you naked than to see you fight
Paige VanZant may not be one of the best fighters on the planet, but she is definitely one of the most popular. She has created her own brand and has managed to make a name for herself outside of her fighting career. But sometimes she’s been criticized for it and has had to face some nasty comments. Most recently, the UFC champion took a swipe at her.
She’s had nine fights in the UFC. She’s quickly become one of the most popular fighters. In addition, Paige VanZant has been through an extremely unpleasant experience. She shared her life story of being gang raped publicly.
That’s what got her started in martial arts. She was a ballet dancer in her youth. Considering what she has been through, it may come as a surprise that the American fighter has no problem revealing her figure.
After all, she has made more money doing just that than she did in her entire UFC career. VanZant has fought the likes of Rose Namajunas, Rachael Ostovich, Amanda Ribas and Michelle Waterson in the organization.
So she’s challenged tough opponents, taken on big challenges. But with a 5-4 record, she didn’t exactly impress. After the UFC, she headed to the BKFC organization, where she fought without gloves. No longer financially independent.
If it wasn’t for the OnlyFans account, she might still be struggling financially. “I think I made more money in 24 hours on OnlyFans than I did in my entire fighting career,” the Daily Mail quotes her as saying.
But VanZant has no regrets about her stint in the UFC. On the contrary. More than once, she has stated that she is grateful to have been able to fight there. After all, it helped her to even greater popularity, which, incidentally, was reflected in the profits from the platform where she shared adult content for money.
Paige VanZant is backed by the UFC champion
While Paige VanZant’s statement isn’t exactly new, every now and again the media brings it up again for a clear purpose. Readership. After all, the American fighter still interests readers. More than once Sean Strickland has leaned into her, and now he has done so again.
Strickland is now the UFC middleweight champion. He has “shined” several times with some controversial opinions and statements. It’s said that the organization didn’t want him to fight for the title because of that. And his latest statement about VanZant is nothing short of controversial.
In fact, he explained three reasons why he believes the American fighter has earned more through the OnlyFans platform than she has in her career in combat sports.
“They signed you because you’re hot. Women’s MMA is lame. Men will pay to see you naked rather than watch you fight,” Strickland’s position is clear.
