The best MMA organization on the planet will be in Perth, Australia early Sunday morning with the UFC 284 gala. And there’s plenty to look forward to. Two title fights, a raucous Australian crowd and the best fighters in the world.
Plus, history could be made. Alexander Volkanovski could become a two-time champion when he fights for the lightweight title. The featherweight king will challenge Islam Makhachev, who is facing his first defence.
Volkanovski will have a lot of support as a home fighter. But Makhachev could have prepared for this in a way at the press conference.
And while the Australian will be fighting for the title in the higher weight division, there will be a fight for the interim title in his weight division. That will be handled by Yair Rodriguez and Josh Emmet, with Rodriguez in particular guaranteeing a great spectacle.
Jack Della Maddalena also puts on an attractive fight, taking on Randy Brown.
