UFC 279 promises to be an awesome spectacle. The main event was originally supposed to be a fight between Nate Diaz and Khamzat Chimaev, followed by Tony Ferguson and Li Jingliang and Kevin Holland and Daniel Rodriguez. But everything is different.
Things got really heated before the tournament and there were conflicts. Anyway, Chimaev outweighed Diaz by almost four kilograms and Diaz turned down the fight. He wanted a different opponent, and he pointed one out to himself. And so he did. Because of this, there were changes in all three of the aforementioned fights.
The main event will eventually be catered by Nate Diaz and Tony Ferguson, fighting for five rounds. The next fight will feature Khamzat Chimaev and Kevin Holland, while Li Jingliang will take on Daniel Rodriguez.
The improvisation has worked out well and quite possibly we are getting an even more attractive card than the original one. And that’s why you shouldn’t miss the entire main card.
The main card will then open with Johnny Walker and Ion Cutelaba facing each other, while Irene Aldana and Macy Chiasson will face each other in the second duel. So there is a lot to look forward to.
Especially the main fight will be worth it. Both Ferguson and Diaz are legends, many believe they are past their prime, but now they will want to prove the opposite to be true.
