The Czech national U21 football team has two qualifying matches ahead of it. On Friday 25 March at 19:00 Elbasanu will play against home Albania. Four days later they will play in Andorra. Coach Jan Suchopárek has selected the following names.
So far, the twenty-one team has had a good start to the qualification. In Group G they are in first place with 13 points. England is second with 10 points, but also two games less.
Jan Suchopárk’s charges first won four times, then lost 1: 3 to England and drew 1: 1 with Slovenia. Six points are expected at the March meeting, but the Lions are certainly not expecting anything else.
The team will again be led by captain Filip Kaloč from Baník Ostrava, while the Lions will be able to rely on Pavel Šulc, Tomáš Čvančara, David Jurásek and Adam Karabec.
“Four months have passed like water, but there have been a lot of changes. We have some players coming back from injuries, but unfortunately there have been some injuries as well. So the nomination is quite different than in the autumn. Eight players in our shortlist have changed their jerseys and because of that we had to leave some players out because they are not as busy,” Suchopárek said at the press conference.
There are three newcomers in the nomination. Goalkeeper Lukáš Horníček, defender Martin Cedidla and midfielder Matěj Valenta will come to the first meeting.
