Fury demolished Chisora and impressed many celebrities with his performance
WBC heavyweight boxing world champion Tyson Fury showed his greatness once again. Nearly 60,000 fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium saw the demolition of challenger Derek Chisora after a truly impressive performance by the British champion.
the 34-year-old Fury completely dominated the fight with compatriot Chisora, pounding his opponent for ten rounds before the bout was stopped by referee Victor Loughlin. Chisora thanked him afterwards for stopping him, knowing he wouldn’t give up on his own.
When the pair first faced each other in 2011, they were fierce rivals. Today, 11 years later, they are good friends. The mutual respect is evidenced by footage from the locker room, where the two had a post-game burger with their children.
Give him a peerage, urges football legend Rooney
One of the 60,000 fans packed into the stadium was former Albion football icon Wayne Rooney. He was absolutely stunned by the performance of his fellow countryman from a boxing background and sang his praises.
“I think it was the best performance we’ve seen in a long time and I don’t think anyone can beat him,” Rooney offered his opinion of the unbeaten Fury , according to Talksport.
“I think he’s an absolute legend for what he’s done for boxing. He’s entertaining, his skills are unbelievable, his mentality is unbelievable,” he gushed over the qualities of the boxing legend.
“If I’m honest, I think he should be given a knighthood,” the football legend said. “Because he was not afraid to go abroad, he won titles abroad, defended them abroad and he embodies everything that boxing is,” he explained.
The conferment of a peerage is a significant event in the countries of the United Kingdom and is awarded by inheritance or for merit.
The legendary British footballer Sir Bobby Charlton, the charismatic manager Sir Alex Ferguson and the great Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton have all received the peerage for merit.
Despite flirting with retirement earlier this year, Fury seems intent on continuing to fight and cement his legacy in the sport by facing the best. We should see a unification fight for all titles with Oleksandr Usyk next year.
