Megasouboy of legend? Tyson Fury got into a crossfire with Jon Jones on social media in recent days, which Dana White took advantage of. The UFC promoter offered the famous boxer a fight in his organization at the post-fight press conference.

Joe Rogan poked the hornet’s nest and a potential Fury vs. Jones duel is on the cards

Utopia? Maybe not quite. Six years ago, Dana White gave the green light to a fight between boxing veteran Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his hottest commodity, Conor McGregor. But now he’s come up with a perhaps comparably interesting proposition.

The flame of a possible fight was recently sparked by well-known UFC tournament commentator Joe Rogan. In his podcast, he offered his opinion on who would win a potential no-rules fight between heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury and UFC champion Jon Jones.

“If Tyson Fury and Jon Jones were locked in a room with no rules, I’d put all my chips on black,” Rogan believes in a Jones victory. “Tyson Fury is an amazing fighter, but he would have no chance of getting out of that room.”

That, of course, ticked off the legendary British boxer, who left no stone unturned on the charismatic commentator. “I would have walked out of that room on my own, believe it,” Fury responded on his social media.

The response didn’t take long, and Jones told Fury he could call the UFC boss if he wanted to see how he would fare in the cage. Whereupon Fury invited Jones into the ring. Thus began a communication between the two men via social media that Dana White himself had to respond to.

Dana White took advantage of the situation and offered the British boxer an interesting offer

After the UFC Fight Night tournament in Las Vegas, he spoke to the media about a potential megafight between Jones and Fury. “I like Tyson Fury, I have a really great relationship with him,” White said.

“But right now the debate is about the biggest bad guy on the planet, right? There’s no question that Jon Jones is the biggest bad guy. In the ring, maybe it’s Fury and it’s obvious he would beat Jones in boxing,” he offered his opinion.

“But if Tyson really wants to find out who the biggest badass on the planet is, let’s do this fight in the octagon. I know he’s been toying with MMA in his mind. We figured out how to pay Floyd, we’ll pay Tyson.”

“So the offer is on the table if you want to do it in the UFC. I’ll throw in the title of biggest badass on the planet (note BMF title held by Jorge Masvidal). Tyson has my number, he can call me,” he ended the public offer.

While White isn’t a fan of MMA fighters fighting boxers, he would make an exception in this case for obvious reasons. However, a cage fight between Fury and the legendary Jones straight up is still highly unlikely.
